Keeping Fan Coil units maintained and up to date is essential for the performance of your system. In the event a part breaks on your fan coil a simple repair can be done to replace it. At JLS we stock all Fan Coil components to solve all issues as soon as they happen.

JL Specialists strive to provide the most efficient and cost-effective upgrades, bringing all units up to date and allowing them to operate at full potential. 

As a Fan Coil System ages the chances of spore and mold growth appearing on the insulation increases drastically, causing major health concerns and unclean air.  Its recommended to replace the Fan Coil Cabinet Insulation every 15-20 years, especially in older condominiums, to eliminate these risks and ensure you're getting the cleanest air possible.  

At JLS we use a Closed-Cell Foam Insulation that prevents the growth of mold and spores from embedding into the material. Produced with materials that create a barrier from contaminants, preventing them from being absorbed into the insulation and allowing any future mold growth to be easily cleaned.

Certain upgrades can be made to a Fan Coil system, improving efficiency and costs to better serve your needs.  When choosing to enhance your system there are many variables to consider whether its money saving, damage avoidance or up-to-date technology.

A Flood Prevention Switch will notify you if there is a blockage in the condensate drain pan. When the water level in the main drain pipe rises due to a clogged condensate drain, the switch shuts off the fan coil system, preventing water from overflowing and causing damage to doors, walls and ceilings. In the center of the switch is a precise magnetic reed switch constructed of materials that will not rust or stick.  The perfect solution to a future problem.

Upgrading to a high efficiency Fan Coil Motor can cause improvements in the operation of your system while decreasing electrical bills.  The silent operation when the system is ON provides a noiseless result in your home - no more noise every time your Fan Coil cuts in.  A high efficiency motor will allow you to see savings on your electrical bill as well as rebates available from the government for choosing a 'greener' option in your system.

For many Corporations a full Fan Coil Remediation is the preferred choice when upgrading a 20-30 year old condominium.  These upgrades include a high-efficiency Fan Coil unit, fan coil cabinet insulation replacement, upgraded thermostats as well as doors and grilles, all designed to meet the specific needs of each condominium.

Its recommended to do yearly maintenance on your Fan Coil system.  Spring maintenance should be performed prior to the cooling season, including an inspection of the condensate drain pain to ensure there are no blockages.  Fall maintenance to clean and inspect the fan coil unit prior to the heating season is optional, however recommended.
